luṭ·nā vt to be robbed; घर लुट गया the house was robbed; गाड़ी में मुसाफ़िर लुटे passengers in the train have been robbed.

luṭānā vt to squander: रुपया, बचत ~ -- money, savings; व्यापारी ने सारा माल सस्ते दामों लुटा दिया the businessman gave away the entire goods at a cheap price.

lop mu (a) disappearance: ईमानदारी, शिष्टाचार, संस्कृति का क्या ~ हो गया है ? have honesty, decency, culture disappeared ? (b) elision, deletion: शब्द का ~ -- of a word; ~ करना to delete, to elide.

lāt fc kick: घोड़े की ~ -- of a horse; मैंने उसे ~ मारी I kicked him/it; मेरे पेट पर ~ पड़ी I received a -- on my stomach; लातें खाना to endure --s; ज़ोर से ~ जड़ना to kick hard. △ लातों के देवता/भूत बातों से नहीं मानते rod is the logic of fools, mere words do not suffice when rod is necessary.

lalāī fu redness: आँखों, चेहरे, होठों की ~ -- of eyes, face, lips.

līk fc track, rut: ~ पर चलना to follow the beaten path; लीके ~ गाड़ी चले लीके चले कपूत a cart goes on a rut and a bad son also follows the beaten track; यह ~ पकड़कर चले चलो go on following this --. △ ~ पीटना to blindly follow a tradition; ~ से बेलीक चलना to go astray, to violate the traditional course.
