laṛ·nā vi (a) to fight: ~ बंद करो stop fighting; दोनों एक घंटा लड़ते रहे both fought for an hour; शत्रु से ~ -- (against) the enemy; हम स्वतंत्रता के लिए लड़े थे we had fought for freedom; वह लड़ाई में बहादुरी से लड़ा he fought bravely in the battle; मैं अपने अधिकारों के लिए लड़ता हूँ I fight for my rights; प्राण रहते ~ -- till death; लड़ मरना to fight to death. △ लड़े सिपाही, नाम सरदार का the soldier fights, the chief gets all the credit.
