tab·dīl a [predicative] (a) changed, altered; ~ करना to change, to alter; ~ होना to change [syn. बदलना]: कपड़े ~ कर लो change your clothes; कपड़े ~ हो गये clothes (were) changed. (b) transferred; ~ करना to transfer; ~ होना to be transferred: क्लर्क को यहाँ से ~ कर दो transfer the clerk from here; क्लर्क ~ हो गया the clerk was transferred. [cf. बदलना, n. तबदीली]

tigunā a and adv three times (more): चार का ~ बारह होता है three times four is twelve; तिगुने रुपये three times more money; इसे ~ करो make it threefold.

taṅg a (a) tight [कालर collar, जूते shoes, बनियान vest, सूट suit]. (b) tight, hard up; ~ हाल tight condition, straitened circumstances; ~ वक़्त hard times; वह रुपये से ~ है he is -- with money. (c) narrow [गली street, पुल bridge, पतलून trousers, जूते shoes]; यह सड़क सिरे पर ~ हो गई है this road gets -- (narrows) at the end. उसका दिल ~ है he has a -- mind; वह तंगदिल है he is narrow- minded. (d) ~ आना to be tired, to be fed up: मैं तुम्हारी शिकायतों से ~ आ गया हूँ I am fed up with your complaints; निकम्मा बैठे-बैठे ~ आ गया हूँ I am tired of sitting idle; ~ करना to harass, to tease: बच्चों को ~ मत करी do not harass the children; △ हाथ ~ होना to be in straitened circumstances, to be short of money.
