(b) बाज़ार ~ है the market is dull; किसी को ~ करना to pacify smb; ~ पड़ना/होना to cool down, to be pacified. △ वह वहीं ~ हो गया he became lifeless there; ~ करके खाओ blow first and sip afterwards, lie patient; ~ लोहा गरम लोहे को काटता है a soft answer turns away wrath; कलेजा ~ होना to have one's revenge, to feel happy; ठंडी/ठंढी साँस/आह भरना to heave a deep sigh; ठंढे-ठंढे during the cool hours of the day. II. adv (a) exactly, precisely: मुझे ~ याद नहीं है I don't remember --; ~ साल भर बाद -- after a year; ~ बारह बजे -- at 12 o'clock, ~ वैसा (ही) -- the same.
