ghaṭā fc [also occasionally घटा-टोप] mass of clouds: ~ आती/ उठती/उमड़ती है black clouds gather; ~ छा रही है black clouds are over-spreading; आकाश में ~ छा गई the sky was overcast with a mass of dark clouds.

ghanāpan mu thickness: बादलों (आबादी, बालों) का ~ -- of clouds (population, hair).

ghān mc [restricted use] lot (of smth for grinding, pressing or frying): सरसों (गेहूँ, पूरियों) का ~ a -- of mustard-seed (wheat, Poories); पहले ~ का तेल oil for the first --; दूसरे ~ के शक्करपारे sweets of the second --; ~ उतारना to take down the -- after grinding or frying; ~ डालना to start pressing or frying.
