ghūr·nā I. vi to frown; पिता जी के घूरते ही लड़का चुप हो गया as soon as the father frowned, the boy kept quiet. II. vt (a) to stare at, to peer at: बच्चे आश्चर्य से हाथी को घूरते रहे the children kept staring/peering at the elephant in wonder; उसने अपने चश्मे में से मुझे घूरकर देखा he/she stared/peered at me through his/her eye-glasses.

ghāyal I. a wounded, injured [आदमी man, औरत woman, जवान soldier, टाँग leg, हाथ hand]; बुरी तरह ~ severely --, badly hurt; लड़ाई में ~ -- in action. ~ करना to injure: एक लड़के ने किसी को ~ कर दिया a boy --/hurt smb. ~ होना to be injured/wounded: वह दुर्घटना or युद्ध में ~ हो गया he was -- in an accident या in the war.
