gaṛ·baṛānā I. vi (a) to be confused; यह सुनकर मैं गड़बड़ा गया I got confused on hearing this. (b) to be disturbed; सारी पुस्तकें गड़बड़ाई हुई हैं all the books are disturbed; नींद गड़बड़ाई the sleep was disturbed. II. vt to confuse; तुम दो बातों को गड़बड़ा रहे हो you are confusing two things.

guṇ mc (a) merit, excellence; आदमी (घोड़े, दवा, पढ़ाई-लिखाई) के ~ --s of a man (horse, medicine, studies); इस योजना के ~ क्या हैं what are the --s of this plan ? ~ -दोष --s and demerits; उस आदमी में कई ~ हैं he is a man of parts; आब-हवा अपना ~ दिखाएगी the climate will show its good effect; △ ~ गाना to sing praises, to praise. (b) quality; हम ~ की चिंता करते हैं परिणाम की नहीं we consider -- and not quantity; किसी संगठन के ~ qualities of an organization; माल के ~ qualities of goods. (c) attribute, property; गैस (पानी, लोहे, हवा) के ~ properties of gas (water, iron, air); ईश्‍वर का ~ दया है mercy is the -- of God. (d) virtue; धैर्य एक ~ है patience is a --.

gã̄v-gã̄v adv in every village; वह ~ फिरा he moved about in every village; ~ में ग़रीबी है there is poverty --.
