chhuṛ·vānā vt [indirect caus. of छुड़ाना (a) to get released: अपराधी को छुड़वा लिया got the culprit released. (b) to cause to give up: उससे यह आदत छुड़वा दो make him give up this habit; उसकी नौकरी छुड़वाई made him give up service. (c) to take delivery: पार्सल ~ -- of a parcel. [see छूटना, छोड़ना, छुड़ाना].

jānā vi 1. to go [past and p.p. गया went, gone]; लड़की स्कुल जाती है the girl goes to school; मैं एक पत्र लिखने जा रहा हूँ I am going to write a letter; तुम किसके साथ गये थे with whom did you go ? मैं वहाँ अकेला गया था I had gone there alone; आगे (पीछे, तेज़, धीरे, सीधे) ~ -- ahead (पीछे, quickly/fast, slowly, straight); कार (गाड़ी, जहाज़, समुद्र, सड़क) से ~ -- by car (train, ship, sea, road); कमरे के/से बाहर (घर के भीतर, सड़क के किनारे, पुल के पार, सिढ़ियों के/से नीचे) जाओ go out of the room (into the house, along the road, across the bridge, down- stairs); जाकर देखो go and see.
