(b) to increase: बढ़े हुए ख़र्च increased expenses; बढ़ती हुई संख्या increasing number; आकार में बढ़ता है increases in size; नदी में जल बढ़ गया water in the river increased; मेरी मज़दूरी बढ़ने वाली है my wages are about to be increased. (c) to advance: वे बहुत दूर तक बढ़ गये they advanced very far; सेना आगे बढ़ी the army advanced further; और देश आगे बढ़ रहे हैं other countries are advancing. (d) to proceed: हम उस और बढ़े we proceeded in that direction. (e) to develop: जल्दी (धीरे, अच्छी तरह) ~ -- quickly, (slowly, well); उसका ज्ञान बढ़ रहा है his/her knowledge is developing. (f) रोग, वैर बढ़ गया disease, enmity was aggravated; लंबाई में बढ़ गया exceeded in length; सीता गीता से आगे बढ़ गई Sita excelled/surpassed Gita; यह उससे बढ़कर है it excels that, it is better than that; उससे बढ़कर कोई ईमानदार नहीं है there is no
