līk fc track, rut: ~ पर चलना to follow the beaten path; लीके ~ गाड़ी चले लीके चले कपूत a cart goes on a rut and a bad son also follows the beaten track; यह ~ पकड़कर चले चलो go on following this --. △ ~ पीटना to blindly follow a tradition; ~ से बेलीक चलना to go astray, to violate the traditional course.

lajānā I. vi (a) to feel shy, to blush: लड़की लजाती है the girl feels shy. (b) to be ashamed: यह सुनकर मैं लजा गई I was ashamed on hearing this. II. vt to make one blush/ashamed: मैंने उसे लजाया I ashamed him/her, I made him/her blush. [syn. शरमाना]
