phãs·nā vi (a) to be entangled: हिरन जाल में फँस गया the deer was entangled/caught in a net; वह काँटों में जा फँसा he got enangled in thorns. (b) to be entrapped: शेर जंगल मे फँसा पड़ा था the lion was lying entrapped in the forest; वह दलदल में फँस गई she was entrapped in quag- mire [fig. too]. (c) to be involved: झंझट या मुकद्दमे में ~ -- in trouble or a law-suit; वे दोनों प्रेम में फँसे थे they were involved in love.

phūhaṛ·pan mu shabbiness, unmannerliness: छोटी बहू का ~ -- of the younger daughter-in-law; ~ से shabbily.

phaṛak fu (a) flutter: पंखों की ~ -- of wings; ~ के साथ with a --. (b) throbbing: नाड़ी की ~ -- of the vein/pulse. [vi फड़कना]
