(b) correct [उत्तर answer/ reply, पत्ता address, समय/वक़्‍त time, हिसाब account; यह बिलकुल ~ है it is absolutely --; आप ठिक कहते हैं you are right/correct: ठिक ही है it is more or less --; ~ करना to correct: अपनी ग़लतियाँ ~ कर लो -- your mistakes; मैं तुम्हें ~ कर दूँगा I will -- you, I will set you right. (c) accurate, exact [पता address, समय time]. (d) appropriate, proper [क़ीमत price, बात thing, दवा medicine, शब्द word]; इस काम के लिए यही ठीक आदमी है he is the -- man for this job. (e) well: वह अब बिलकुल ~ है he/she is quite -- now. मेरी तबियत ~ नहीं है I am not --. (f) ~ वही same, very: ~ वही आदमी the very man; वह ~ दक्षिण को गया है he has gone to south; अपना सामना ~ कर लो check up your luggage; विवाह ~ करना to fix up marriage. II. adv (a) exactly, precisely: मुझे ~ याद नहीं है I don't remember --; ~ साल भर बाद -- after a year; ~ बारह बजे -- at 12 o'clock, ~ वैसा (ही) -- the same. (b) rightly: तुम ~ समझते हो you, understand --; ~ मध्य में -- in the middle. (c) well: तुमने बहुत ~ कहा you said very well; यह जूता ~ नहीं आता this shoe does not fit --.

ṭhah·rānā vt (a) to stop: बस यहाँ ठहरा दो stop the bus here. (b) to cause one to stay (put up): उसे होटल में ठहराया गया he was made to stay in a hotel. (c) to hold: अदालत ने उसे अपराधी/ज़िम्मेदार ठहराया the court held him guilty/responsible; उँगली पर पैसा ~ -- a paisa on the finger. (d) to fix: भाव (क़ीमत/मूल्य, विवाह) ~ -- (up) rates (price, marriage).

ṭhõk·nā, ठोकना ṭhok·nā vt (a) to hammer (in): दीवार में कील (ज़मीन में खूँटा) ~ -- a nail into the wall (a peg into the ground). (b) to inflict: जुरमाना (दंड, नालिश) ~ -- fine (punishment, law-suit). (c) to pat, to thump: △ किसी की पीठ ~ -- smb's back, to encourage smb; ठोक-बजाकर देख लो try well and see.
