chhamāhi a six-monthly, half-yearly [निरीक्षण inspection, परीक्षा examination, भुगतान payment].

(d) to be abandoned (given up) अभ्यास (आदत, आना-जाना, रोग, साहस, शराब) छूट गया है the practice (habit, visit, disease, courage, wine) has been given up. (e) क़ैदी छूटा the prisoner was released/discharged; मेरा साथी पीछे छूट गया my companion lagged behind; रोग से जाना ~ to get rid of a disease; रस्सी छूटी the rope was loosened; बंधन छूटे ties were undone; गाँठ छूटी the knot was undone; खाँसी छूटी cough started;
