prasanna a pleased, happy, glad: ~ चित्त happy mind; ~ मुख happy face; मैं उसके परीक्षा-फल से ~ हूँ I am pleased with his exam. result; तुम उससे मिलकर ~ होगे you will be happy/pleased to meet her/him; वह ~ दिखाई देता था he looked happy; आशा है कि आप ~ होंगे it is hoped that you will be happy; ~ करना to please: नौकर ने स्वामी को ~ कर दिया the servant pleased the master.

hāīrān a [use. predicative] surprised, amazed; हमें वहाँ देखकर वह ~ थी (हो गई) she was -- to see us there; ~ करना to surprise; उसके उत्तर ने मुझे ~ कर दिया his/her reply -- me; आप यह सुनकर ~ होंगे you will be -- to hear that...; [syn. चकित]
