khilānā vt (a) caus. from खाना; to cause to eat, to feed; बच्चे (घोड़ों, भिखारी, दास्तों) को ~ to -- child (horses, beggar, friends). (b) caus. from खेलना; to cause to play; बच्चे ~ to make the children play [cf. बच्चे को खिलाना above]. (c) caus. from खिलना;; to make bloom/blossom; फूल ~ to make the flowers bloom.

dīn a (a) humble [भक्‍त devotee, भाव feeling, स्वभाव nature]. (b) poor [भिखारी beggar, व्यक्‍ित person, स्त्री woman]. (c) poor, miserable [दशा condition, पापी sinner].

pherā mc (a) round: पहिये (भिखारी, मौसमों) का ~ -- of wheel (beggar, seasons); ~ लगाना to make a round; फेरे लगाना to make frequent rounds: उनका नौकर दिन में चार फेंरे लगा गया their servant has made four rounds here. (b) trip: कुली का ~ porter's --. (c) फेरे पड़ना to be bound in wedlock.

bhikhārī mc beggar: भिखारियों को भीख दो give alms to --s; एक भिखारी व्दार पर खड़ा है there is a -- at door. [syn. भिक्षुक: fem. भिखारिन].

mã̄g·nã vt (a) to demand: अधिकार (उत्तर, प्रमाण, मज़दूरी) ~ -- rights (answer/reply, proof, wages); मैंने उससे अपना रुपया माँगा I demanded my money from him/her. (b) to ask for: विदा माँग़ते हुए when asking for farewell; भिखारी रोटी माँगता है the beggar asks for bread; जो कुछ माँगोगे दूँगा I shall give whatever you ask for. (c) to seek: आसरा (shelter help) ~ -- support (शरण, सहायता). (d) माँग लेना to borrow; क्षमा ~ to apologize: किसी से क्षमा ~ to apologize to smb.
