gīdaṛ mc 1. jackal; ~ जंगली जानवर है -- is a wild animal; △ यहाँ ~ बोलते हैं it is a ruined/deserted place; ~ -भभकी mere threat, blustering. 2. coward; वह बिलकुल ~ है he is much of a coward. [syn. सियार]

ghõghā mc 1. shell, conch: नदी से घोंघे इकट्ठा करना to collect shells from a river; घोंघे का खोखा shell case. 2. (also घोंघा बसंत) idiot: वह तो बिलकुल ~ (बसंत) है he is quite an --.

ṭhīk I. a (a) right [आदमी person, जगह place, रास्ता path/way, व्यवहार conduct]; यह ~ नहीं है it is not --; ~ करना to put right, to set --; रेडियो ~ करना to set -- the radio. (b) no: उसने कहा, 'नहीं' he/she said, 'No'; मैं मूर्ख ~ हूँ I am no fool; और ~ no more; और कुछ ~ nothing more; और कहीं ~ nowhere else. नहीं तो certainly not; or else, otherwise: जाओ नहीं तो देर हो जायगी go or else (otherwise) you will be late; कल नहीं तो आज कर लेना do it today, if not tomorrow.

nitānt adv [qualifies an adjective] utterly, absolutely [अशुद्ध impure/incorrect, बुद्धू stupid, मदमत्त drunk]. [syn. बिलकुल]

nipaṭ adv absolutely [गँवार rustic, निरंकुश despotic, बहरा deaf]; ~ झूठ बोलता है -- tells lies. [syn. बिलकुल]

nirā a 1. utter [बुध्दू stupid, मूर्ख fool, गँवार rustic]. 2. only, entire; ~ पानी nothing but water; निरी बकवास all nonsense. [syn. बिलकुल]
