lāūṭānā vt to return; लौटा देना to give back; लौटा लेना to take back; मेरी किताब आज ही लौटा देनी होगी you will have to return my book today; उसने लौटकर देखा he/she returned and saw.

lāchār a (a) helpless [आदमी person, हालत condition]; वह पैसे के बिना ~ है he is -- without money; ~ होकर वह लौट आया Being --, he came back. (b) constrained, compelled: उसे ऐसा करने के लिए ~ किया गया he was -- to do so. cf. वह कोई काम करने से ~ है he is unable to do any work, वह कोई काम करने को ~ है he is forced to do some work.
