par·hez mu abstinence: शराब (मांस, सिगरेट) से ~ -- from wine (meat, cigarette); से ~ करना to abstain from, to avoid: उधर जाने से ~ करना to abstain from going there. △ एक परहेज़ लाख दवा prevention is better than cure. [syn. संयम]

poṣaṇ mu (a) nourishment: बच्चों का ~ nourishment of children; ~ करना to nourish: पेड़ पौधों (पशुओं, बच्चों) का ~ करना to nourish plants (animals, children); आशाओं या भावनाओं का ~ करना to nourish hopes or feelings. (b) [generally पालन-पोषण] bringing up, rearing: बच्चों (भेड़ों, मुर्ग़ियों) का ~ करना -- children (sheep, hens).
