māyā fu 1. Maya, illusion: यह संसार ~ है this world is a/an --. 2. divine power: ईश्‍वर (इन्द्र, देवी) की ~ -- of God (Indra, goddess). 3. money, riches; △ ~ से ~ मिले money begets money; ~ बादल की छाया riches have wings.

mālik mc (a) owner: असली ~ original/legitimate --; दुकान (मकान, संपत्ति) का ~ -- of a shop (the house, the property); ~ का जोखिम --'s risk; ~ का दायित्व -- 's responsibility. (b) master [उदार liberal, चालाक shrewd, पुराना old]; ~ आदेश देता है, नौकरों से आज्ञा मनवाता है a -- orders, requires obedience of his servants; कुत्ते का ~ -- of the dog. (c) employer: ~ नौकरों को चुनता है, उन्हें काम पर लगाता है, उन्हें मज़दूरी या तनख़ाह देता है an -- selects servants/employees, engages them in work, gives them wages or pay.
