bhagānā vt [caus. from भागना] (a) to cause to run away: भीड़ को ~ to cause a crowd to run away. (b) to scare away: कुत्तों (चिड़ियों, कौवों) को ~ -- dogs (birds, crows). (c) to drive off: किसी को घर से ~ to drive off smb from the house. (d) भगा लेना, भगा ले जाना to run away with, to kidnap, abduct: बच्चे (लड़की, स्त्री) को ~ -- a child (girl, woman); भगाने वाला kidnapper; भगाया हुआ kidnapped, abducted.
