bichhaṛ·nā, बिछुड़ना bichhuṛ·nā vi to separate: हम दो मील एक-साथ चले और फिर बिछुड़ गये we walked two miles together and then separated; प्रेमी प्रेमिका से बिछड़ता है a lover separates from his beloved; हम नहीं बिछड़ सकते we cannot separate. [n. बिछोड़ा separation].

begār fu forced labour: किसान से ~ लेना to take forced work from a peasant; ~ मना है -- is banned. △ ~ टालना to work in a perfunctory manner.

basānā vt (a) to inhabit, to build: नगर or गाँव ~ -- a town या village. (b) to rehabilitate: वनवासियों को बसाने के लिए for rehabilitating forest-dwellers.
