bidak·nā vi to be startled: घोड़ा बिदक गया the horse was startled; मैं ऐसा कहता हूँ तो वह बिदकता है when I say this he is startled. [syn. भड़कना]

bīt·nā vi (a) to pass, to expire: ऐसे ही समय बीत जाता है the time passes like that; वर्षों बीत गये years passed/elapsed; कई दिन बीतते गए several days went on passing; बीता हुआ past; बीता हुआ वर्ष past year; बीती हुई घटनाएँ past events; बीती हुई तारीख़ expired date. △ बीती ताहि बिसार दे let the past bury its dead, let bygones be bygones. (b) to happen, to befall: उस पर क्या कुछ बीती what befell him/her. [vt बिताना]

bonā vt to sow: बीज (गेहूँ, खेती) ~ to sow seeds (wheat, a field); शत्रुता or मित्रता का बीज ~ -- the seed of enmity या friendship; बोने के समय at the sowing time; जौ बोओ or बो दो sow barley; मैंने अच्छे- अच्छे बीज बोये I sowed select seeds. △ जैसा बोओगे वैसा काटोगे reap as you sow.
