ṭhah·rānā vt (a) to stop: बस यहाँ ठहरा दो stop the bus here. (b) to cause one to stay (put up): उसे होटल में ठहराया गया he was made to stay in a hotel. (c) to hold: अदालत ने उसे अपराधी/ज़िम्मेदार ठहराया the court held him guilty/responsible; उँगली पर पैसा ~ -- a paisa on the finger. (d) to fix: भाव (क़ीमत/मूल्य, विवाह) ~ -- (up) rates (price, marriage).

ṭhappā mc (a) mould, die: सिक्के या खिलौनै बनाने का ~ -- for minting coins or making toys. (b) stamp: इस कपड़े या काग़ज़ पर अपना ~ ल़गा दो put your -- on this cloth or paper. [syn. (b) छाप]

ṭhõk·nā, ठोकना ṭhok·nā vt (a) to hammer (in): दीवार में कील (ज़मीन में खूँटा) ~ -- a nail into the wall (a peg into the ground). (b) to inflict: जुरमाना (दंड, नालिश) ~ -- fine (punishment, law-suit). (c) to pat, to thump: △ किसी की पीठ ~ -- smb's back, to encourage smb; ठोक-बजाकर देख लो try well and see.

ṭhiṭhar·nā, ठिठुरना ṭhiṭhur· nā vi to be benumbed, to shiver: वह सरदी से ठिठरने लगा he began to shiver with cold; उसके पैर ठिठुर गये his feet were benumbed. [syn. काँपना]

/ठंढक ṭhaṇḍak/ṭhaṇḍhak fu coolness: यहाँ थोड़ी ~ है it is a bit -- here; ~ लगना to feel cool.
