jhañjhaṭī a (a) troublesome (मामला affair, काम work); (b) trouble-making [आदमी man, लड़की girl].

jhã̄k·nā vi to peep: माँ ने कमरे में (खिड़की में से) झाँका the mother peeped into the room (through the window): सूरज बादलों में से झाँक रहा था the sun was peeping through the clouds.

jhã̄ī 1. fu shadow, reflection = परछाईं q. v. 2. fc मुँह पर झाँइयाँ पड़ गईं had freckles on the face.

jhurrī fc wrinkle: आम (चेहरे, हाथों) पर झुर्रियाँ --s on mango (face, hands); ~ पड़ना to wrinkle, to pucker: चेहरे पर झुर्रियाँ पड़ गई हैं the face is wrinkled/puckered.

jhallānā vi to be annoyed/ irritated: वह झल्लाकर बोला he got enraged/irritated and said. [syn झुँझलाना]

jhāpaṛ mc (full blooded)slap: उसने एक ~ कर दिया (दे मारा, मार दिया, लगाया) he gave a slap. [syn. चाँटा]
