basānā vt (a) to inhabit, to build: नगर or गाँव ~ -- a town या village. (b) to rehabilitate: वनवासियों को बसाने के लिए for rehabilitating forest-dwellers.

van·vās mu dwelling in forest, exile: ~ लेना to go to dwell in a forest, to be exiled; राम को चौदह वर्ष का ~ मिला Rama was exiled (compelled to dwell in a forest) for fourteen years.
