ḍubānā, डूबना ḍubonā vt (a) to sink, to submerge: उन्होंने जहाज़ को डुबा देने का निश्चय किया they decided -- their ship. (b) to dip: स्याही में क़लम ~ -- pen in ink. (c) to drown: वे डाकू को डुबो/ डुबा देना चाहते थे they wanted -- the dacoit. (d) to ruin, to destroy: नाम ~ -- one's name/reputation; घर की लुटिया डुबो दी ruined the home.

luṭiyā fc a small lota लोटा q. v.; मेरे पास एक गिलास और एक ~ है I have a glass and a --. △ ~ डुबोना to bring ruin: तुमने सारी ~ डुबो दी you have ruined the whole show.
