jān·nā-pah·chān·- nā vt to know and recognize, to know well: मैं उसे जानता-पहचानता हूँ he/she is acquainted with me, I know him/her well. [see जानना]

pah·chān·nā vt (a) to recognize, to identify: किसी का चेहरा ~ -- smb's face; मैंने उसकी आवाज़ पहचान ली I recognized her/ his voice; हम उसे कठिनाई से पहचान पाये we could recognize her/him with difficulty; तुम उसके बोलने के ढंग से उसे तुरंत पहचान जाओगे you will recognize him/her at once by his/her manner of speaking.
