ujaṛ·nā vi to be ruined; बेचारा उजड़ गया the poor fellow is ruined; गाँव उजड़ते हैं और फिर बसते हैं villages are ruined & then re- habilitated.

jaṛ·nā vt (a) to inlay, to set (jewels): अँगूठी में मोती or हीरा ~ to inlay a ring with pearls या diamond; हाथी दाँत में सोना जड़ा था ivory was inlaid with gold.
