(c) of long standing: पुरानी आदत a habit --; पुरानी शिकायतें long standing complaints (d) पुराना आदमी old hand, experienced person; पुराने ढंग के लोग old-fashioned/ orthodox people; ~ खुर्राट/घाघ/ चंडूल an experienced crafty person. △ पुराने मुर्दे उखाड़ना to renew old grievances. sūnā a (a) desolate [घर house, जंगल forest]; सूनी जगह -- place; सूने खण्डहर -- ruins. (b) void; ~ हृदय -- heart; सूनी दृष्टि -- looks. (c) lonely; ~ लगना to feel --; वह गाँव को ~ कर गया he went away leaving the village void and desolate. [see सुनसान]
