jhaṭak·nā vt (a) to shake/ jerk off: पेड़ों को ~ to shake the trees; उसने अपना सिर झटका he/she shook/jerked off his/her head; उसने लड़के की बाँह झटककर उसे पीटा he/she shook the boy's arm and beat him; (b) to extort, to snatch, to obtain by force: रास्ते में बटमार ने मेरा बटुवा झटक लिया on the way the robber --ed my purse.
