[unchanged] should, ought: तुम्हें वहाँ तुरन्त जाना ~ you should (ought to) go there at once; उसे अब तक पहुँच जाना ~ था he should (ought to) have reached by now; उसे ~ था कि अब तक पहुँच जाता (it was necessary that) he should (ought to) have reached by now; हमें नहीं जाना ~ we -- not go. chupaṛ·nā vt to daub, to smear: घी से रोटी ~, रोटी पर घी ~ -- bread with ghee; सिर पर तेल ~ -- oil on head; चुपड़ा हुआ buttered, daubed; △ चुपड़ी और दो-दो his bread is buttered on both sides. [see चिकना]

chāūh·rā a fourfold [लाभ profit, काग़ज़ paper, कपड़ा cloth]: ~ करना to repeat four times, to fold (paper, cloth, etc.) four times.
