(b) to capture, apprehend: शत्रु पकड़े गये the enemies were captured. (c) to hold: बक्स पकड़ो hold the box; मेरा हाथ पकड़ो hold my hand. △ ज़िद्द/हठ ~ to become hardened in persistence; रास्ता पकड़ो take your way, go; ज़ोर ~ to have momentum.
