(b) end, destination, goal: नाव ठिकाने लगी the boat reached its --; △ काम ठिकाने लगा the work was brought to its end; आदमी ठिकाने लगा the man came to his end, died; उसकी शरारत का कोई ठिकाना नहीं there is no end to his mischief. (c) certainty: इस मेज़ का क्या ~ is there any -- about this table ? उस आदमी का क्या ~ that man is unreliable. △ ठिकाने का आदमी a gentleman, a reasonable person; ठिकाने की बात a reasonable thing; बेठिकाने out of place.
