ghab·ṛānā, घबराना ghab· rānā I. vi (a) to be perplexed, to be bewildered, to be nonplussed: इस समस्या से वह घबरा गया/उठा he got perplexed by this problem; यह सुनकर वह घबराया he was nonplussed on hearing this. (b) to become restless: थाने का नाम लें तो वह घबरा जाता/उठता है when you mention a police station he becomes restless. (c) to get panicky: इन बीमारीयों से वे घबरा गये they got panicky on account of these diseases. (d) to be nervous: बच्चा न लौटा तो माँ घबराई when the child did not return, the mother got nervous; वह घबराया हुआ है he is perplexed/nervous. II. vt (a) to baffle, confound; परिस्थितियों ने उसे घबरा दिया circumstances baffled/confounded him/her. (b) to make panicky/nervous: बच्चों को मत घबराओ don't make the children nervous/panicky.
